Many cake designers may feel that they lack the confidence or the knowledge to fully achieve their business’ potential. With constant competition and the presence of social media it can often feel an overwhelming task to make as well as sell cakes. This three-day course aims to share with you all that Rosalind has learned and built up in her 20+ years of design and work within the industry. We tackle all the tricky subjects that are invaluable lessons for businesses of any size and relevant to the industry today.
Rosalind’s background lies within teaching the skill of design at the highly prestigious Central St Martins, this leaves her in a unique position to really teach you how to successfully design a cake; placing you in a better position to be a trendsetter yourself and design the cakes that you really want to make!
The school is also part of a fully functioning and busy kitchen, so it is in the perfect position to share with you all the ‘ins and outs’ of running a successful and commercial business. Topics covered will include Branding, Social Media, PR and Marketing, Health and Safety, Costing and Pricing, Production, Starting up, Trade shows, Consultations and much more.
We want the class to be hands-on, after all, us cake makers are tactile people! So, we will be having lots of practical sessions in design, client consultations and photography.
You’ll also be able to take a tour of our professional cake design studio and kitchen (conveniently located next to the classroom), you’ll also meet Rosalind and the team for Q&A where you can ask any cake questions you may have.
No matter what size cake business you are running or looking to start, this intensive class will be sure to help you and your business achieve your goals.

The ‘Hands On’ Sessions:
- A practical design session with Rosalind, where she will share with you all her own hints and tips in designing the perfect cake.
- A photography session with a professional photographer where they will take you through the best ways to take pictures of your cakes.
- An interactive consultation session where you will go through the full process, from meeting the ‘client’ to designing and pricing the cake.
Upon completion of this module you will receive a Rosalind Miller Cake School Diploma Module Certificate of Excellence

Timings: 10.30am – 5.00pm (with 30 mins – 1 hour for lunch). Please note, the class may run over depending on the speed of the group on the day.

If you wish to book onto a different class or course this may be possible in some circumstances and transfers will be at the discretion of Rosalind Miller Cakes. We reserve the right to cancel a class or course under certain circumstances, including if we do not have the minimum number of students booked onto the class. In the unlikely event that we have to cancel a class or course we will offer a full refund for the cost of the class or the course, or a transfer to another class of the same price. We will endeavour to advise you as far in advance as possible if we need to cancel a class.
